Kotor - the city of cats

il. 1 Bay of Kotor

For dessert we stop in Kotor, located in the bay resembling one of the Norwegian fjords (il. 1). The Old Town of Kotor is entered in the register of UNESCO. We unfortunately do not have much time, but certainly is worth coming here for longer. Also to climb the walls of the old city leading up to the St. John fortress (Tvrdjava Sv. Ivan) located in height. 260 m asl and towering majestically over Kotor (il. 2-3).

Initially we were looking for the relationship between the name of the city, and cats (over the city there are a lot of cats, their images and figures), but after talking with aboriginals, we learned that residents are simply lovers of these animals.

Na deser zatrzymujemy się w Kotorze, położonym w zatoce przypominającej jeden z norweskich fiordów (il. 1), którego starówka wpisana jest do rejestru UNESCO. My niestety nie mamy za dużo czasu, a z pewnością warto zabawić tu dłużej. Także po to, aby móc wspiąć się wzdłuż murów prowadzących od starego miasta aż o twierdzy św. Jana (Tvrdjava Sv. Ivan) mieszczącej się na wys. 260 m n.p.m.i majestatycznie górującej nad Kotorem (il. 2)

Początkowo dopatrywaliśmy się zależności pomiędzy nazwą, a wizerunkami i figurkami Kotów oraz samymi zwierzętami, które widać tutaj na każdym kroku (mają nawet muzeum kotów! - il. 9), ale po rozmowie z autochtonami, dowiedzieliśmy się, że mieszkańcy są po prostu miłośnikami tych drapieżników.
