Unhurried departure from Katowice. Traditionally on the way to Romania we stopped in Slovakia to taste fried cheese with tartar sauce (il. 1) and a draft beer.
To Maramures we arrive late in the evening. We assume camp near Izvoare in Muntii Lapus. 2 cars, 4 tents, 7 people (+ 1 on the way) and a dog.
DAY 15, PART 2/2: Serbia Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro with Aventura Maramures
il 1 - Clown car
Two hours later we set off. After about 70 km, just before the gates on the highway, the car goes out. Successively we jump out of the vehicle like from clown car: driver, passenger and three passengers from the back seats (remember - we have one more passanger in the trunk). Hastily, while still goes on, we push our car on the side of road.
M. goes to find out where we can recharge the accumulator or where is car workshop. Highway employee wanting to help dials to a nearby mechanic.
At this time, as if by a magic wand, comes to us man, who immediately diagnose the cause of failure and... gets a call from a highway employee who talked with M. It turns out to be the same mechanic!
After towing and five hours waiting for regeneration and replacement of brushes in the generator we recive an obscenely high bill. Finally, we set off on our way and after midnight we get to Koszarawa to stop for the night.
That's our whole expedition. We all drift to our homes, unable to wait for the next trip.
il. 2 - In anticipation of the car repair we eat leftover pieczonki because there is no restaurant in the area.
Ot i cała nasza wyprawa.
DAY 15, PART 1/2: Serbia Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro with Aventura Maramures
il. 1 Our car with battery removed
il. 2 M. is optimistic and T. thinks how to solve a problem
We get up at dawn in the hope that rural residents are also morning's birds. M. locates a sizeable homestead, where bustles an elderly woman. Every door (home, sheds, barns etc) are standing wide open. He is trying to ask her for help, talking about our problems with the car and need of charge the battery, but the old woman doesn't want to listen - she threaten to call the police and trying to embitter her dog that apparently no desire to move. Judging that maybe male seemed too be to frightening for her, we are sending O. for negotiations. The result turns out to be the same. Conclusion? We must seek help elsewhere.
Mały lokalizuje pokaźne gospodarstwo, w którym krząta się jakaś starsza kobieta, a wszelkie drzwi (do domu, szopy, obory etc) stoją szeroko otworem.
il. 3 W. during packaging
While the rest of the team cleans up our camp, M. goes north, and O. south. The plot thickens. O. sees a moving car and starts chasing him. The driver realizes after a while that someone running after him shouting. This time we have more luck. The man admittedly hurry to work, but he understands the problem. He drives up to a nearby house and tries to call his friend (the owner) screaming from behind the fence, but to no avail. There is a farm opposite, where (as he tells us) lives mother of his colleague. She can not help us (we do not understand why: or there is no electricity or the problem is somewhere else), but she dials to her son and she manages to wake him up. Now everything goes smoothly. Man No. 1 introduces us to his friend and in good conscience leaves to work, man No. 2 (charming Serb, about 30 years old) offers us a morning beer or coffe and starts charging accumulator bring by M.
DAY 14, Montenegro/Serbia Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro with Aventura Maramures
il. 1-2 Way to the Durmitor National Park
We are approaching the end of the journey. We drive through the mountains (il. 3-7) witch dazzle with its beauty. Unfortunately, we do not have time to ride the picturesque Valley of Tara river (Europe's deepest canyon reaching up to 1300 m depth!), but we stop for a while on the 360 m lenght concrete bridge Đurđevića, which is here considerable tourist attraction. The bridge was built in 1937-1940. You can see it in the movie "Force 10 from Navarone" filmed in 1978.
Most wybudowano w latach 1937-1940 i zobaczyć go także można w filmie „Komandosi z Navarony” z 1978 roku.
il. 3-7 Durmitor National Park
After crossing the Serbian border B. reminded of the obligation to have a document certifying our stay in Montenegro, which we should get from the police office and which is apparently necessary to cross the border. But somehow we managed without it.
Our problems with the alternator increase. We are looking for overnight a camping site or a hotel where we could charge it, but we can't find anything. Already dusk and our lights in the car go out. Power remnants we turn toward the village buildings and pitched tents on someone's meadow with the intention to look for help in the morning.
DAY 13, PART 3/4: Montenegro Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro with Aventura Maramures
il. 1 Last look at Montenegro sea
The beaches in this part of the country are not particularly attractive. To enter the water you have to go directly from rocks or from concrete platforms with stairs. This can be an obstacle for people who feel insecure in the water, have difficulty with mobility or for families with small children.
Upon reflection we choose a rocky descent to the sea to to cool off a bit in the water before entering in the central part of the country. (il. 2)
il. 2 Two octopus in the water
My po zastanowieniu wybieramy skaliste zejście do morza, by przed wjechaniem w głąb kraju, jeszcze raz schłodzić się trochę w wodzie. (il. 2)
il. 3 Wanderer above the Sea of Fog. Inspired by Caspar Friedrich.
After a swim we head towards Nikšić, near which we find a small, but very bushy glade in the forest. Although there is little space for tents, then at least no shortage of wood for Pieczonki.
DAY 13, PART 3/4: Montenegro Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro with Aventura Maramures
il. 1 Bay of Kotor
For dessert we stop in Kotor, located in the bay resembling one of the Norwegian fjords (il. 1). The Old Town of Kotor is entered in the register of UNESCO. We unfortunately do not have much time, but certainly is worth coming here for longer. Also to climb the walls of the old city leading up to the St. John fortress (Tvrdjava Sv. Ivan) located in height. 260 m asl and towering majestically over Kotor (il. 2-3).
il. 2-3 Walls of the old city
Initially we were looking for the relationship between the name of the city, and cats (over the city there are a lot of cats, their images and figures), but after talking with aboriginals, we learned that residents are simply lovers of these animals.
il. 4-6 the old town
Jana (Tvrdjava Sv. Ivan) mieszczącej się na wys. 260 m n.p.m.i majestatycznie górującej nad Kotorem (il. 2)
il. 7-8 the old town
DAY 13, PART 2/4: Montenegro Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro with Aventura Maramures
il. 1 Mosaic
The second stop is Budva (one of the most Montenegro tourist destinations). Origins of the town are date back to the fifth century BC. The medieval old town delights the eye, impresses with its aromas and flavor. Is full of boutiques, souvenir shops, restaurants and cafés.
In 1979. a powerful earthquake destroyed most of the historic buildings, but now they are restored.
Drugi przystanek to Budva (jedna z bardziej turystycznych miejscowości Czarnogóry). Miasto, którego początki plasują się jeszcze przed naszą erą, gdyż piersi osadnicy zamieszkali tu w V w. pn.n.e. Średniowieczne stare miasto cieszy oko i podniebienie, przepełnione jest bowiem butikami, sklepami z pamiątkami, restauracjami i kawiarniami. Choć w 1979 r. miało tu miejsce potężne trzęsienie ziemi, które zniszczyło większość zabytkowych kamienic, do dnia dzisiejszego udało się je odrestaurować.
il. 2-4 The Old Town
Exploring the old town you can also visit the citadel (its origins date back to the first Greek settlers), the city walls and several charming churches.
Apparently in Budva social life and nightlife thrives in comparison to other cities of Montenegro. The promenade along the sea hosts open-air disco and in the evening turns into a consumerist jarmark overflowing life until the morning. But we was not given the check it, because of our busy schedule.
